Hyannis Cocaine Raid: 3 'Dealers' Arrested

Police said a drug raid in Hyannis resulted in the seizure of cocaine. Rashad Copper and brothers Wahzir and Amir Beyah were all arrested.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Three cocaine dealers were recently arrested during drug raid in Hyannis, police announced Tuesday. Arrested were Rashad Copper, 34, of Hyannis and brothers Wahzir Beyah, 20, and Amir Beyah, 29, also of Hyannis. Police said they seized about 14 grams of cocaine, nearly $4,000 in cash, a video surveillance system, cell phones and digital scales at their residence.

The raid, the result of a search warrant, happened Thursday at about 12:30 p.m. at a Hyannis residence on Baxter Road. Barnstable and Yarmouth detectives organized the raid. (Sign up for free daily newsletters and breaking news alerts from Massachusetts Patch sites.)

"At the residence, the occupants of the home Amir Beyah, Wahzir Beyah, and Rashad Copper and other family members were secured and Police Officers conducted a search pursuant to the search warrant," Barnstable and Yarmouth police said in a statement. "During the search, officers recovered several knotted plastic baggies containing a white compressed powder (Cocaine) from inside the residence as well as ... packaging materials, digital scales, cell phones, and US currency."

The Beyah brothers and Copper were all charged with cocaine possession with intent to distribute and conspiracy. The Beyah brothers were released on $40 bail; Copper was released on $2,000 bail. All were scheduled for arraignments in Barnstable District Court, police said.
