Longtime Hyannis Firefighter To Retire

The Hyannis Fire Department will hold a ceremony next week for the 36-year veteran.

HYANNIS, MA – A longtime member of the Hyannis Fire Department is set to retire this month. Capt. Tom Kenney will retire Friday, Oct. 19 after 36 years, nine months and 19 days on the job, the department said in a statement.

The Hyannis Fire Department will host a retirement celebration Oct. 19 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Residents are invited to stop by for coffee and share memories.

The celebration will take place at the new Hyannis FD headquarters if it is completed by then; otherwise, the old station will still be in service.
