A MA Family Found A Lost Puppy And Took Him Home. The Puppy Was Actually A Coyote.
Once the family realized their mistake, they called staff at the Cape Wildlife Center for help.

CAPE COD, MA — A local family got more than they signed up for when they brought home a puppy they found lost and distressed on a busy Massachusetts road.
It turns out he wasn't a puppy at all — at least not the kind the family was expecting. The little bundle of fluff was an Eastern coyote pup separated from his family, according to the Cape Wildlife Center in Cape Cod.
Once the family realized their mistake, they called staff at the Cape Wildlife Center for help, the agency said in a Facebook post.

Center staff were given the all-clear by state wildlife officials to rehabilitate and care for the pup. After testing negative for rabies, the pup is currently resting in one of the center's isolation wards, according to staff.
The pup won't be alone for long, though. Soon he will be joined by another coyote pup arriving from the Wildlife Clinic of Rhode Island, the post read. The pair will be vaccinated and raised together as center staff teach the pups natural behaviors and skills usually learned from a parent.
