Major Cape Cod Fentanyl Bust at Shriver Family Home

Barnstable police said Troy Monteiro, Ariel Price-Perry, and Trevor Rose ran a fentanyl ring out of a Shriver family home in Hyannisport.

BARNSTABLE, MA — A trio from New Bedford ran a major fentanyl dealing operation out of a Hyannisport home belonging to the famed Shriver family, authorities announced Thursday. Troy Monteiro, 29, his girlfriend, Ariel Price-Perry, 26, and Trevor Rose, 29, were arrested Wednesday and charged with a host of crimes, police said. Authorities seized $40,000 worth of fentanyl and $20,000 in cash.

The arrests were the result of a two-month-long undercover investigation involving federal drug agents. Police said the trio transported drugs from New Bedford to Cape Cod, where they hid the stash at Squaw Island Beach in Hyannisport while running the drug dealing operation out of a residence at 31 Atlantic Avenue. The residence is owned by a limited liability corporation managed by Robert Shriver, WCVB reported. Shriver's parents were Eunice and Sargent Shriver. Eunice, who died in 2009, founded the Special Olympics, while Sargent Shriver, who died in 2011, founded the Peace Corps.

Police said the Atlantic Avenue home's property manager allowed Monteiro, Price-Perry, and Rose to use the residence.

Rose was charged with trafficking fentanyl and cocaine possession.

Police said they found 200 grams of fentanyl worth $40,000 in the beach hiding spot. They said they found the $20,000 in Monteiro and Price-Perry's apartment at 3 South Sixth St. in New Bedford. And they said they found drug dealing equipment at the Shriver home.
