Mark Cabral Sworn In As Barnstable's Deputy Chief Of Police
Cabral has been a member of the Barnstable Police Department for 17 years.

BARNSTABLE, MA — A longtime member of the Barnstable Police Department was sworn in as its new deputy chief Friday. Mark Cabral, a 17-year veteran of the department, has supervised the midnight shift for the Patrol Division for the past seven years.
Cabral has been an Adopt-A-School Officer and a Field Training Officer since 2011 and commander of the Adopt-A-School Unit since 2012. He was appointed director of the Citizens Police Academy in 2014 as a sergeant.
In 2018, Cabral was designated as the Lieutenant in Charge of Communications, and was instrumental in the merger of Barnstable Police Dispatch with Hyannis Fire Dispatch, a significant undertaking for both agencies. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England University and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Curry College.
