The training is being conducted in Yarmouth, but will pull a few resources from Barnstable and Hyannis.

YARMOUTH, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection is sponsoring a "full-scale oil spill response training exercise" in Yarmouth on Thursday.

Officials said the exercise is "designed to enhance the skills and readiness of first responders in handling marine oil spills."

It is part of MassDEP’s Marine Oil Spill Prevention and Response Program, which has pre-positioned oil spill response trailers in 70 coastal communities, including Barnstable and Yarmouth, officials said.
