Osterville Native Awarded Prestigious Scholarship
The resident is in her sophomore year at Mount Ida College in Newton.

Mount Ida College is pleased to announce Molly Glassman, Class of 2014, as the fourth recipient of The Carol J. Matteson Endowed Scholarship for Student Leadership. Molly, a student in the School of Business, is a Hospitality Management major and is pursuing a concentration in Hotel Management. She received the scholarship award at Honors Convocation on May 19, 2011.
Upon receiving the award, Molly stated, “I am delighted to be selected as the recipient of this prestigious scholarship. It is an honor to be associated with Dr. Matteson, who I know was a remarkable leader with a passion for the students and faculty of the College. I look forward to representing her ideals throughout my time as an undergraduate at Mount Ida College.”
“Miss Glassman has proven in her first year that she has the leadership skills to make a positive impact on Mount Ida and the community at large now and in the future. Thanks to The Carol J. Matteson Endowed Scholarship for Student Leadership, Molly will continue to focus on her development and growth as a student leader inside and outside the classroom. On behalf of the faculty, staff and students, we are thrilled to award this honor to Molly,” declared David Healy, Vice President for Finance and Administration, Treasurer, and Acting Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations.

The Carol J. Matteson Endowed Scholarship for Student Leadership was established in 2009 in recognition of Dr. Carol Matteson for her 10 years of service from 2000 to 2010 as the fifth President of Mount Ida College. The recipients of this scholarship, known as 'Matteson Scholars,'‟ have exhibited leadership skills in the classroom and the campus community, as well as demonstrate financial need. 'Matteson Scholars' are guaranteed to receive the Award in their sophomore, junior and senior years given that they maintain good academic and community standing.
Molly is a resident of Osterville, Massachusetts and is the daughter of Marcia and Andrew Glassman.
