Red Raiders Roll Over Nauset in 12-1 Rout

Senior righty Keegan Dellacona fanned 15 Nauset Warriors this afternoon in Hyannis to pick up his second win in as many starts as Barnstable rolled to a 12-1 victory.

Make no mistake, this senior right-hander can pitch.

Barnstable High School's Keegan Dellacona struck out 15 batters on this chilly, breezy afternoon on the Red Raider home field, defeating Nauset in a complete-game, four-hitter in a 12-1 finale.

Dellacona allowed one unearned run in the top of the seventh inning, gave up four singles and walked four. He now stands at 2-0 with a 0.00 earned run average intact.

Nauset's Joey Ogden was the sole Nauset batsman to have multiple hits as he banged out a pair of basehits to go 2-4 on the day.

Barnstable's offense was an altogether different story, however, as every man in the Red Raiders' lineup rapped out at least one hit in this affair.

Barnstable's Luke Besse went 2-3 with two runs scored, followed by Ty Adams (2-4, RBI), Dylan Morris (2-2), Dan Walsh (1-3, RBI-double), Mark Brodd (1-4, 3 RBI), Everett Walsh (1-3), D.J. Crook (1-4, 3 RBI, 2B), Tim Biliouris (1-4) and Denny Beynor (1-3).

Nauset dropped to 1-1 on the season while Barnstable rose to 5-0. The Red Raiders next face Falmouth on the road on Thursday, April 12. Righty Pete Liimatainen looks like the probable starter for that one, prior to April vacation.

Barnstable got all the offense it would need in the bottom of the first, jumping on Nauset southpaw Wes Brown early, 3-0. Besse and Adams singled, then Morris squared around to lay one down and placed it perfectly and in so doing turned a probable sacrifice into an infield single. A line-drive to center by Brodd was dropped to score the first run and then Danny Walsh and Crook collected RBI.
