The Providence man also faces several firearm charges. He was arraigned in Barnstable on Tuesday.
BARNSTABLE, MA — A Rhode Island man faces multiple drug trafficking and firearms charges after fleeing a Cape Cod traffic stop over the weekend.
On Sunday at 9:45 p.m., two Barnstable police officers stopped a Jeep SUV after seeing the driver commit "several" traffic violations on Main Street in Hyannis.
The officers had a conversation with the driver, Frenyi Mieses, 25, of Providence. When they returned to their cruiser to conduct a computer check on his license status, Mieses drove away from the stop at "a high rate of speed," police said.
