Rob Galibois Jumps Into Open Cape & Islands District Attorney Race
Republicans have controlled the district attorney's office for more than 50 years. Defense Attorney Rob Galibois will try to change that.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Defense Attorney Rob Galibois, 52, will seek the Democratic nomination in the open Cape & Islands district attorney race, Galibois' campaign said Friday.
Galibois' ties to Cape Cod are decades long. He began his legal career in 1995 as a volunteer prosecutor in the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s office under District Attorney Phil Rollins. Galibois later worked as an assistant district attorney in the office for six years, where he argued cases from misdemeanors to major felonies in each of the district courts on the Cape and Islands, as well as Barnstable Superior Court.
In 2003, Galibois entered private practice and opened his own law office five years later. He has maintained his defense practice since 2008, handling over a dozen homicide cases and representing clients throughout the Cape, state and country.
