Search for a Superintendent Nears its End
What was once 26 applications has been narrowed down to three remaining finalists.

The search for Barnstable’s new superintendent began months ago when the Superintendent Search Committee received 26 applications for the job. Now the field has been narrowed down to three finalists.
Mary Czajkowski is the current Agawam superintendent of schools. She is also the former assistant superintendent at Agawam. She holds a doctorate in educational leadership and a master of education in instructional leadership.
Frank Hacket is the current Pembroke superintendent of schools and is the former superintendent at Ellsworth, ME. He is currently completing his doctorate at the University of Maine and holds a certificate of advanced graduate study in educational leadership.

Middleton McGoodwin is the current Marshfield superintendent of schools. He is also the former assistant superintendent at Marshfield. He holds a doctorate in educational leadership and a master of arts in teaching Earth science.
The school committee will have an opportunity to interview the finalists next Tuesday, March 15th.

The following week members of the school committee will visit the finalists at their at their respective sites. The committee will reconvene Thursday, March 24th to deliberate and vote for Barnstable’s next superintendent.
“I’m just floored by the field of candidates that we had,” said committee vice chair Francis McDonald.
“We really had an outstanding field to look at and to interview,” echoed committee member Margeaux Weber. “I think we are in pretty good shape.”
