The Barnstable Gateway Program is proud to announce the results for the Barnstable Public Schools Destination Imagination teams from the Regional Tournament held on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.

We had eighteen fabulous teams competing.

The following teams came in FIRST in their division at the DI Regional Tournament on Sunday and will advance to the State Tournament on March 31 at WPI (Worcester Polytech):

BHS Seniors: Ross Gifford, Ali Gorin, Drew Gorin, Lexi Malakhoff, Dan Normand, Shannon Rex, Luke Starr -- coach:  Nancy Malakhoff

BHS Seniors: Emma Boudreau, Emma Crowley, Aurelio DiMuzio, Andrew Holzman, Kathryn McDonald, Julia Wareham -- coach:  Beth Manhardt and Denise Holzman

Awards

Four Renaissance Awards were made, two to Barnstable teams: 

BHMCPS -- Andrew Cabral, Kaelan Cassidy, Kristin Duff, Jack Fredericks, Poppy Powers, Peter Sisson, Lilllyann Zahn - coaches Meg  Zahn, Tanya Duff -- Award given for their impressive performance in Rising Stars, especially their outstanding teamwork (Grade 2, noncompetitive). 

BHS -- Ross Gifford, Ali Gorin, Drew Gorin,  Lexi Malakhoff, Dan Normand, Shannon Rex, Luke Starr-- coach:  Nancy Donnelly-Malakhoff for their outstanding performance in the Instant Challenge portion of the competition. 

BHS -- the Donnelly-Malakhoff team also won the t-shirt contest!
