Steamship Authority Announces Tuesday Morning Cancellations

The agency has canceled more trips a day after mechanical issues sidelined one of its boats.

HYANNIS, MA – The Steamship Authority has announced more ferry cancellations Tuesday morning due to mechanical problems. The issues are impacting a boat called the Woods Hole, which was canceled twice Monday and has been sidelined again this morning.

The 6:30 a.m. from Hyannis to Nantucket and the 9:15 a.m. from Nantucket to Hyannis have both been canceled Tuesday.

It's the latest in a series of problems to plague the Cape Cod ferry service this summer. The agency has attempted to pin the breakdowns on a RI-based contractor hired to repair its boats, sparking a back-and-forth between the two companies over who was responsible for the myriad of issues.
