Toxic Algae Bloom At Cape Cod Conservation Area: Officials
Officials are warning swimmers and pet owners to stay away from the area.

HARWICH, MA — Town officials in Harwich are warning swimmers and dog owners about a toxic algae bloom at a local conservation area. A blue-green algae bloom is impacting the West Reservoir at Bell’s Neck Conservation Lands, according to the town.
"Please do not swim in, or let your dog’s swim in or drink out of this water," according to a statement from the town Monday. "This bloom should only last a couple of days."
The algae can bloom in warm water, leaving humans and animals at risk of poisoning, according to health officials. Parents are warned to keep their children away and pet owners should not let their dogs go in the water.
