Undercover Hyannis Drug Stings Net 4 Arrests

Police said one of those arrested flushed cocaine down the toilet and fought detectives.

Barnstable police said they charged four people in a pair of undercover drug stings in Hyannis this week.

The first sting happened Tuesday at 35 Louis St., Apt. B and resulted in the arrests of:

  • Kenneth Debarros, 45
  • Robin Gomes, 52

Both were charged with trafficking heroin. Police said they found 65 grams of heroin, packaging materials, and $600 in cash in their apartment. Debarros’ record includes 40 charges and several drug and gun conviction. Gomes’ record includes 52 charges and eight drug conviction. Each was held on $20,000 bail.

The second sting happened Wednesday at 250 Sea St. and resulted in the arrests of:

  • Sergio Saldana, 22, of Boston
  • Demetrius Bennett, 24, of Dorchester

Both face several drug charges. Bennett was also charged with resisting arrest after he flushed cocaine down the toilet then fought detectives, police said. Officers said they found crack cocaine, Oxycodone, and Vicodin in their possession.

Barnstable police said they conducted the strings to disrupt the flow of heroin and cocaine in the region.
