PROVINCETOWN, MA — When Vice President Kamala Harris told a Provincetown crowd on Saturday that "we are going to win the election" she was, ostensibly, talking about a ticket with President Joe Biden at the top.

One day later, Harris herself is the favorite to run against former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election after Biden announced Sunday he would drop out of the race.

Harris was on Cape Cod over the weekend for a sold-out campaign event in Provincetown. Tickets for the fundraiser ranged from $150 to $150,000 and the event reportedly raised over $2 million.

She voiced support for Biden a day before he dropped out of the race, calling him "one of the most consequential presidents in American history" and referring to him as "our president."

The fact that the event, which was held at the Pilgrim Monument and Lighthouse, reportedly raised over $2 million for the Biden Victory Fund is now slightly ironic, as the president has now moved to endorse Harris for president.

Politico is reporting that Harris will inherit Biden's campaign donations, however, which include those raised on Cape Cod. ABC News reported Harris raised $50 million after Biden's endorsement on Sunday, too.

Still, it brought out political and Hollywood celebrities including the actress Jennifer Coolidge — photographed with Provincetown Town Manager Alex Morse — and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

Also in attendance were Gov. Maura Healey, Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll, Attorney General Andrea Campbell and Democratic Whip Katherine Clark.

Clark also endorsed Harris for president after the Biden news broke.

"I proudly and enthusiastically endorse Kamala Harris for President of the United States," Clark said.

"Vice President Harris is a champion for working families and reproductive freedom. She stood up to corporate greed and lowered prescription drug costs for seniors. She expanded the Child Tax Credit that cut child poverty in half. She is a fierce advocate for affordable child care and housing and helped pass historic gun safety reform. She has fought back against Donald Trump’s abortion bans and will ensure that every woman can access full reproductive health care in every zip code in America."
