Walk To End Alzheimer's Returning To Cape Cod In Person Oct. 3

The Cape Cod walk will occur in person again this year after canceling the large gathering in 2020.

HYANNIS, MA — The Walk To End Alzheimer's is returning to Cape Cod in person Oct. 3, after canceling the large gathering in 2020.

The annual event, hosted by the Alzheimer's Association, brings people together to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's care, support and research. On Walk day, participants honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the Promise Garden ceremony — a mission-focused experience that signifies solidarity in the fight against the disease. The colors of the Promise Garden flowers represent people's connection to Alzheimer’s — their personal reasons to end the disease.

The 2-mile walk will begin at 10 a.m. Oct. 3 at Veterans Park Beach in Hyannis.

"We are so excited to bring this powerful event back to the community in a way that celebrates the efforts of our volunteers, sponsors, participants, and donors while honoring those we’ve lost to this devastating disease," said Jim Wessler, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. "We are working to ensure everyone who attends feels welcome, safe, and inspired."
