WATCH: Great White Shark Chows Down On Seal Off Cape Cod

Beach season may be over on Cape Cod, but great white sharks are still swimming and hunting for blubbery snacks in the region's waters.

PROVINCETOWN, MA — Beach season may be over on Cape Cod, but great white sharks are still swimming and hunting for blubbery snacks in the region's waters.

That's the reminder Cape Cod shark researchers issued Friday when the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy shared a video of a great white chowing down on a seal off Race Point Beach in Provincetown.

"This is another good reminder that white sharks hunt in shallow waters off the Cape and, based on tagging data, we know that October is a peak season month for white shark activity off the Cape.," the conservancy said in a Facebook post.

According to Sharktivity, the app the conservancy launched to track shark sightings, at least six sharks have been detected off the coast of Cape Cod in the last two days.

In the video taken by Corey Nunes below, a great white can be seen swimming close to shore. The water turns red once it takes a bite out of the seal.
