WATCH: Woman Stalked By Coyote On Cape Cod Beach Saved By Boaters

Marcy Sterlis' Cape Cod vacation took a scary turn when a coyote stalked her for 10 minutes on Race Point Beach in Provincetown.

PROVINCETOWN, MA — Marcy Sterlis, of New York, was enjoying her Cape Cod vacation and wanted to spend her Thursday morning taking a leisurely stroll on Race Point beach.

But her stroll was anything but relaxing, after a coyote stalked her on the Provincetown beach, Inside Edition reported. And if it weren't for some nearby boaters, the encounter may have ended with the coyote attacking her. Sterlis tried to get the coyote away on her own by swinging a stick and yelling loudly at it, but her efforts proved unsuccessful. The coyote spent about 10 minutes stalking her and came within a few feet of her on several occasions.

"The coyote seemed content that he had cornered me," Sterlis told Inside Edition. "Just kept coming at me, and I am screaming at this point."

Sterlis called 911 and continued yelling on the beach for help, until her cries were heard by Andrew DeCarton and William Kelly, who were boating nearby. The boaters recorded the encounter, while they came to shore. The men banged their oar on the side of the boat and scared the coyote away. Inside Edition video of the encounter can be found below:
