Where You Vote In Barnstable May Have Changed. Here's How To Find Out

Barnstable made precinct boundary changes to comply with redistricting laws after the 2020 Census. That means you may vote somewhere new.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Changes could be coming to your voting experience in Barnstable this year, town officials announced.

The 2020 Federal Census caused necessary redistricting in many places in the country, in Barnstable is no exception. So, the town made precinct boundary changes to comply with redistricting laws.

What that means for local voters is they may be casting their ballots somewhere new this year.

Town officials are urging people to verify their voting location, which can be done at this link.

The last day to register to vote for the Sept.6 state primary election, and the Barnstable special elections in precinct 3 and precinct 5, is Saturday Aug. 27.

Any person who is currently registered to vote does not have to re-register. Only people who have moved into town, or within the Town of Barnstable, or have changed their address, mailing address or name, will need to contact the Town Clerk’s office by that date.

Town Clerk Ann Quirk said the clerk's office will be open until 5 p.m. on Aug. 27, but only for voter registration issues.
