Woman, Pets Evacuated From Barnstable House Fire
The house fire in Marstons Mills started on the back of the garage and expanded to the roof.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Firefighters battled a house fire on Flume Avenue in Marstons Mills Tuesday afternoon.
The fire started round 4:10 p.m., and on arrival, crews found flames on the back of the garage extending towards the roof.
A woman was the lone resident of the home and was safely evacuated and evaluated by an ambulance crew. No injuries were reported for the woman or her pets, fire officials said.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and conducted an extensive overhaul and ventilation of the home.
Fire officials have yet to determine the cause of the fire but said it was likely an electrical fire.
