Can the State House Security allow some citizens of Beacon Hill to use the Mt Vernon shortcut under the statehouse?
I was very pissed off last voting day when the guard on the Mt Vernon end of the pass under the statehouse popped the door to his air conditioned guard house to rudely shout that we had to walk down Hancock, along Derne and up two long flights of stairs in 90 degree heat. Then he popped the door shut presumably to enjoy his new found power in air conditioned comfort. That left us sweating; we were all very hot and very annoyed.
I am hoping to find several willing Beacon Hill residents to join with me to persuade the powers to be to work out a process so that we can be able to once again use this underpass. please contact me at pek11@mac.com.
