Register to Vote! Today is the Last Day

Wednesday is the Massachusetts deadline to register.

You may or may not have heard, but there's a high-stakes presidential election coming up in just a few short weeks. In order to participate you need to be registered by today, Oct. 19.

If you've never voted in Massachusetts, you'll want to get registered quickly. Even if you think you're already registered, it's best to make sure that your voter registration status is still active.

Voters statewide will be weighing in on the next president of the United States and on four statewide ballot initiatives. There are also a handful of competitive local elections on the ballot, as well as several local ballot initiatives.

Statewide ballot questions include legalizing recreational marijuana, raising the cap on charter schools, adding a second slots parlor license and regulating the conditions in which farm animals are kept — important stuff!

And finally, Massachusetts this year has the option of early voting, which can be done in person or by mail-in ballot from Oct. 24–Nov. 4.
