“We have heard from families loud and clear that registering for schools was far too cumbersome, so we took action to simplify the process,” said Superintendent Carol Johnson via press release. “We recognized that we needed to make this a process that works for the families we serve. By reducing the number of documents needed to register and eliminating duplicate steps from the process we have streamlined the registration experience.”

The new Discover BPS web tool provides parents to more easily determine schools available for them to choose, as well as learn more about each school. The website is still in an early stage of use and is being tweaked where necessary, is a project of the Mayor's Office of New Urban Mechanics.

“Our goal is simply to make parents in Boston aware that now is the time to discover BPS and to make the process as easy as possible,” said Denise Snyder, Senior Director of Welcome Services for BPS, via press release.
