Sneak Peek: Harbor Islands Pavilion on the Greenway

View a sneak peek of the brand new Harbor Islands Pavilion, the first structure built on the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway.

After 18 months of construction, the Boston Harbor Islands Alliance and National Park Service are putting on the final touches for the grand opening of the Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion on the Greenway, between Quincy Market and Christopher Columbus Park. The Pavilion will serve as a gateway to the islands which are accessible from the ferry terminal across the street at Long Wharf.

The Harbor Islands Pavilion opens on the Greenway on Thursday, June 2, 2011 with a ceremony planned for 11:00 a.m. The ceremony will include officials from the Boston Harbor Islands Alliance, National Park Service, Governor Deval Patrick, Mayor Thomas Menino and Vicki Kennedy. The pavilion is located on the Wharf District Parks, Parcel 14 of the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway, next to the carousel on Atlantic Avenue.

This video captures a sneak peek of the Harbor Islands Pavilion with an interview and tour by Bruce Jacobson, Superintendent from the National Park Service.
