Donoghue Barrett & Singal Promotes Seven Attorneys to Partner

Crystal Bloom, Meghan Cosgrove, Lauren Dwyer, Elizabeth Foley, Damien Powell, William Sinnott and Callan Stein to become partners.

BOSTON, MA, NOVEMBER 30, 2016 – Donoghue Barrett & Singal is proud to announce that it has promoted associate attorneys Crystal Bloom, Meghan Cosgrove, Lauren Dwyer, Elizabeth Foley, Damien Powell, and Callan Stein to partner. William Sinnott, who previously served as Of Counsel, has also become a partner. Each of these talented attorneys has proved exceptionally valuable to our clients and they have played a significant role in the Firm’s success.

Ms. Bloom joined Donoghue Barrett & Singal in 2005 and has been instrumental in developing the Firm’s rapidly-growing regulatory practice. She counsels hospitals, imaging clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, substance abuse providers and nursing homes on an array of regulatory issues governed by the Department of Public Health, Medicaid and Medicare.

Ms. Cosgrove joined in 2007 after serving as a Health Insurance Specialist at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. She represents hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers and suppliers on a wide range of matters, including compliance with healthcare fraud and abuse laws and issues related to Medicare.

Ms. Dwyer joined Donoghue Barrett & Singal in 2008 and has become a leader in matters related to business disputes, particularly involving criminal and civil fraud, white-collar criminal defense and professional licensing and disciplinary proceedings.

Ms. Foley joined in 2010 after serving as senior counsel at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Massachusetts and as an assistant attorney general with the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General where, among other prosecutorial and management roles, she specialized in health care fraud, waste and abuse and labor and employment law. Clients benefit from her extensive knowledge of health care corporate and litigation actions involving health care fraud, Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance billing and coding audits, white-collar civil and criminal investigations, professional disciplinary matters and corporate compliance.

Mr. Powell joined in 2006 and has become a critical asset to the Firm’s complex business litigation and white-collar criminal defense practices. A portion of his practice also involves representing professionals and students in licensing and disciplinary proceedings.

Mr. Stein joined in 2007. He is an integral part of the Firm’s white-collar criminal defense, healthcare litigation, and business/commercial civil litigation practices. He has also developed a considerable research misconduct practice.

Mr. Sinnott joined Donoghue Barrett & Singal in 2014 after serving eight years as the Corporation Counsel of the City of Boston and, previously, as a state and federal prosecutor for sixteen years. He now advises the Firm’s clients on white-collar criminal defense, business and healthcare civil litigation, and professional licensing and disciplinary matters.

Senior attorneys emphasized the value the new partners bring to the team and highlighted the important role they will play in the future of Donoghue Barrett & Singal.
