Chinese Vases $4200 (pair)
“These come from the estate of a Beacon Hill family,” owner Lydia Rozovsky tells me. She recently purchased a number of items at the same sale.
“They’re originally from China… I’d say late 19th Century.”

Rozovsky pointed out a number of factors that make the vases unusual. “The wonderful size is not something you see very often,” she said. Indeed – these towering pieces aren’t so much accessories as they are furniture. But she specified that the color and glaze also set the pair apart.
What she’s referring to is the simplicity: looking at Chinese ceramics throughout the various ages, Dynasties, etc., it’s hard to find items this large that are also so straightforward. Ornamental detailing – busier designs – and multiple colors are much more common.
Rozovsky said recent purchases from this estate and several others have brought a new must-see selection of unique antique home furnishings, accessories, and jewelry into her store.
