Elizabeth Warren Taking 'Hard Look' At Presidential Run

The U.S. Senator finally got in on the conversation Democrats have been having for some time.

HOLYOKE, MA — Democrats have been talking about Elizabeth Warren's potential 2020 presidential run for some time. On Saturday, Warren finally joined the conversation.

The Democratic U.S. Senator from Massachusetts told a Holyoke town hall crowd that she will take a "hard look at running for president" following November's midterm elections. She made the announcement after lamenting Thursday's emotional Senate Judiciary Committee meeting featuring Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

"It’s time for women to go to Washington and fix our broken government and that includes a woman at the top," she said.

It's the first real nod Warren has given to a long-rumored run. She's parried questions by saying she was focused on being reelected to the U.S. Senate. Warren, 69, ran unopposed in the state primaries and will take on Republican Geoff Diehl and Independent Shiva Ayyadurai on Nov. 6.

Diehl told The Boston Globe Saturday that Warren should drop out of the Senate race if she is focused on the White House.

Warren has been one of President Trump's fiercest and most vocal critics. Trump has hit back by repeatedly calling her Pocahontas in reference to Warren's claims of Native American heritage.
