How to Make Movies

Learn how to make a short film while being guided through the fundamental steps of screenwriting, scene reading with actors, script breakdown, directing, camera operation and editing. Work in a group to create a screenplay based on a short poem or quote and then begin producing your short film. Take turns directing a scene from the script and learn basic skills in casting actors.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Deborah Shariff is a native of Boston and owner of a full production film/video company, “The Television, Film Producers and Artists Association”. Shariff holds a Master of Science Degree in Film from Boston University School of Film and Television; credits include producing, directing, and writing movies and socially-conscious television shows which have been presented on WGBH, WCVB, WBZ, BNN-TV, and BET STARZ.
