American lobsters are a cultural icon and one of the most important fisheries in New England. At The New England
Aquarium, they use unique, experimental approaches to investigate the biology and behavior of this interesting crustacean. Anita Metzler of the Lobster Research and Rearing Facility will present her own current research on the development of shell disease on hatchery raised juvenile American and European Lobsters. She will also give a sneak peek into the research done by her team who are conducting tests on the diet of juvenile lobsters as it related to shell disease and their overall health.
