La Dolce Vida Dessert Tasting Returns to Cafe ArtScience

Pastry Chef Renae Connolly Embraces The Sweet Life in Second Installment of Sweet Tasting

Following the success of her premiere event in March of 2015, Café ArtScience Pastry Chef, Renae Connolly brings back La Dolce Vida on Tuesday, August 11, an indulgent, five-course glimpse at her dessert program in partnership with the restaurant’s beverage duo, Bar Manager Todd Maul and General Manager/Wine Director, Tom Mastricola. Prior to the dessert tasting, Executive Chef Patrick Campbell will present a two-course, savory menu offered exclusively to La Dolce Vida attendees.

Guests are invited to celebrate La Dolce Vida, “the sweet life” in French, Italian and Spanish, and the inspiration behind Pastry Chef Renae Connolly’s prix fixe dessert menu, reflective of her trips through Spain, France and Italy. Seasonal, tasting-sized portions of Connolly’s feminine, well-balanced treats will begin with a cocktail pairing from Bar Manager Todd Maul, and wine accompaniments sourced from the same regions, selected by General Manager/Wine Director, Tom Mastricola. Unlike Connolly’s debut event, the second iteration of La Dolce Vida includes a separate, set price, savory component as well, presented by Café ArtScience Executive Chef, Patrick Campbell.

  • The Stephen C Tiny Spoon: Charred Jalapeño, Mezcal, PIneapple
  • Compressed Stone Fruit Salad: Summer Herbs, Candied Lemon Zest
  • Wild Maine Blueberry “Pie:” Lime Sabayon, Semolina Crumble, Violet
  • Strawberry Fields: Chocolate “Planter,” Coconut Cream, Strawberry Sorbet
  • Orange Blossom Lemon Chiffon Cake: Passion Fruit Curd, Ginger, Frosted Raspberries, Roasted Valrhona Ivoire

Options on Campbell’s savory, two-course prix fixe menu will include:

  • Chilled Corn Soup: Lobster Oil, Marinated Tomatoes, Pickled Chanterelles
  • Hand-Rolled Potato Gnocchi: Braised Oxtail, Summer Vegetables, Hazelnut and Lovage Pistou
  • Roasted Giannone Farm Chicken: Burnt Eggplant, Braised Sunflowers, Heirloom Tomatoes
  • Grilled Maine Swordfish: Fairytale Eggplant, Pine Nut Puree, Botarga Crostini

Tickets are available for $45 per person, with an optional beverage pairing for an additional $25 per person.
