PHOTOS: 21st Amendment Holds Monthly Beer Tasting Dinner

Under the direction of Chef Nick Bisesti, who came from the Taj Hotel, the 21st Amendment turns its focus to food.

The 21st Amendment has been a Beacon Hill institution for years, a place where everybody knows your name. Although the pub has had steady business over the years from the neighborhood, owner Peter McCarthy is looking to turn it into a destination for food as well as a friendly atmosphere.

McCarthy brought in Chef Nick Bisesti from the Taj Hotel to help strengthen the menu. About five months ago, they started monthly beer tasting dinners. The dinners are about once a month, always on Monday nights, and cost $40 for four courses, each paired with a drink. "We just wanted to show case his talents," McCarthy said of Bisesti.

Recently the restaurant hosted a beer tasting dinner featuring Sam Adams; in the past, Cisco Brewers, of Nantucket, has been featured. Every dinner will feature different beers.
