
An afternoon fight on the Boston Common Saturday sent one person to the hospital.
Around 5:00 p.m. police received a report of group of people fighting on the Charles Street side of the Common. The victim told police that he had been in an argument with a female acquaintance when she hit him in the back of the head and two men she was with began punching him. A bystander intervened and the three assailants fled the into the park. Police searched the Common but could not find them, reports state.
The victim suffered a swollen jaw and two lacerations above his left eye. He was transported to New England Medical Center for treatment.

- At 9:12 a.m. police responded to 1 Charles St. for a report of vandalism.
Sunday, Aug. 5
- At 11 a.m. police received a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle. The victim reported to police that she had parked her car overnight on Charles Street between the Common and the Public Garden and returned to find her laptop computer stolen. There were no signs of forced entry and the victim wondered how the thief got in the car, police reports state.
