Police: Myrtle Street Resident Finds Strangers in Basement, Shooting Up Drugs

Police news from Beacon Hill, July 3-8.

A woman at 34 Myrtle St. woman reported to police Saturday that when she went to her building's private basement laundry room around 6:30 p.m. she found a man and a woman who didn't live there using a needle to do drugs.

The woman left the room and called police, who spotted the suspects leaving the alley behind the building. Both had several needles on them, police said.

They arrested Ana Victoria, of Roxbury, on a charge of  of breaking and entering into a residence by force at night. The man with her gave a name police could not verify and refused to be fingerprinted.

  • At 9 p.m. police responded to 20 Beacon St. for a report of larceny in a building, $200 or more.
  • At 10 p.m. police responded to Pinckney and Charles streets for a report of an assault and battery. According to police reports, a man was walking in the area when he was hit in the head by a beer bottle thrown from a person at a Fourth of July party. The man's head was severely swollen and he was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for evaluation, police say.

Thursday, July 5

  • At 5:20 a.m. police responded to 5 Blossom St. for a report of larceny in a building, $50 to $199.
  • At 8:20 a.m. police responded to 84 Myrtle St. for a report of an assault and battery. According to police reports, two neighbors became involved in a dispute regarding their condo association. The two men then ended up in a physical fight in the middle of Myrtle Street. The scuffle left one man bleeding from the back of the head, police said. The man was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
  • At 10:20 p.m. police responded to Cambridge Street for a report of an unarmed robbery.

Friday, July 6

  • At 1:50 a.m. police responded to Fruit Street for a report of an auto theft. According to police reports, a woman left her car running but locked as she went inside the Liberty Hotel for a few moments. As she was returning to her car, she saw a man get in it and drive away. Her bag, wallet, cell phone, a GPS and about 200 CDs were in the car, along with $200.
  • At 3:52 p.m. police responded to 8 Ashburton Pl. for a report of someone falling from a building. . 
  • At 6:07 p.m. police responded to 200 Cambridge St. for a report of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in personal injury.

Saturday, July 7

  • At 12:15 a.m. police responded to 215 Charles St. for report of larceny, $200 or more.

Sunday, July 8

  • No major incidents reported.
