A Darling Place For a Cupcake
Cafe Darling offers a place to indulge your sweet tooth as well as experience the best of what local artists have to offer.
Cafe Darling sits at 119 Great Road, an old two story home, and as you walk into the main dining room, the sounds of Louis Armstrong and the smell of frosting waft through the air.
Vicky Parks, the proprietor of Cafe Darling, which opened at the beginning of July, hopes her cupcakery will become a haven for Bedford residents to enjoy an Italian coffee, a cupcake and all that local artists have to offer.
"We want to bring a lot of synergy with local artists," Parks said. "We want to invite the public in to join in on the activities with the artists."

Every other Friday night from 6 p.m.-9 p.m., local artists come into Cafe Darling to display their work and give demonstrations to the public.
This Friday night, local artist Laurel Huggins will give a talk and demonstration about her hand crafted jewelry.

Parks is also establishing different kinds of artist presentations on Thursday nights from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m., where Cafe Darling will host local authors for poetry slams, readings and discussions with the public.
"A goal that I would like to accomplish within our first year is to be able to establish the Thursday night readings on a regular basis," Parks
Any patrons metioning this article at Cafe Darling will receive a 10 percent discount on their purchase.
Cafe Darling, described by Parks as a classic American cafe with an Italian twist, offers patrons a wide variety of cupcakes, with the menu changing on a regular basis, as well as breakfast sandwiches and vegetarian options.
For those coming in for the first time, Parks recommends the Cafe Darling cappuccino to compliment any of the cafe's menu items.
