Bedford Schools Superintendent Announces Retirement
Bedford Public Schools Superintendent Jon Sills has been with the district for 20 years.

BEDFORD, MA — Bedford Public Schools Superintendent Jon Sills announced on Monday he would retire at the end of the year. Sills wrote an open letter to the community announcing his retirement in The Bedford Citizen.
Sills has worked in the Bedford school district for 20 years, serving as the district superintendent for the last seven years. Before taking over as the district's leader Sills served as principal of Bedford High School from 2000-2012. Before his time in Bedford, he was the program administrator for social studies at Brookline High School for nine years.
In his announcement letter, Sills said the news comes "with a mixture of sadness, deep respect for all of you, and a bit of excitement about what the future holds for Sandy, my children, my grandkids, and me." Sills didn't disclose whether there was a reason for the retirement or what may come next for him.
