MCC Marketing Director Named Regional Communicator of the Year

Jennifer Aradhya, of Groton, named 2017 District 1 Communicator of the Year by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relationtions

Middlesex Community College’s Director of Marketing Communications Jennifer Aradhya, of Groton, has been named 2017 District 1 Communicator of the Year by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR), the premiere organization for two-year college communications professionals.

NCMPR’s prestigious Communicator of the Year Award recognizes a two-year college marketing, public relations or communications professional who demonstrates leadership in the area of college communications and marketing. Aradhya was officially given the award at the recent NCMPR District 1 Conference, held in Philadelphia, Penn.

“Jennifer Aradhya is quick, responsive, positive and creative – all one could ask for in a true professional,” said MCC President James C. Mabry. “She is a talented communicator whose work is even stronger because of the productive and dedicated team she directs.

“Under Jennifer’s leadership, the Marketing Communications team has mastered new technologies and channels of communication, and pioneered new strategies to connect with students and promote the good work being done by the college,” he said.

Aradhya has been directing MCC’s Office of Marketing Communications since 2012 and oversees all aspects of marketing, public relations, communications, advertising and social media. Under her direction, Middlesex launches award-winning projects and campaigns that focus on enrollment, retention and college completion – with sharply defined, data-driven goals – delivered to targeted audiences.

“I am fortunate to be working under such exceptional college leadership, and with an incredible team of communications professionals,” said Aradhya. “It is truly an honor to receive this award in recognition of the work we do to promote the mission of Middlesex.”

Aradhya holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Bridgewater State University and a master’s degree in applied communication from Fitchburg State University. She serves on the boards of Girls Inc. of Greater Lowell, and the Massachusetts chapter of the American Council on Education (ACE) Women’s Network, as well as on the Greater Lowell Community Foundation’s Marketing & Development Committee.

The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. As one of the fastest growing affiliates of the American Association of Community Colleges, NCMPR has more than 1,550 members from more than 650 colleges across the United States, Canada and other countries.

The Communicator Award is presented annually in each of NCMPR’s seven districts, and district winners are then considered for the national award. District 1 encompasses the community, technical and junior colleges in the Eastern United States from Maine to the District of Columbia, as well as the Maritime Provinces of Canada and the United Kingdom.
