Panera Could Fill Vacancy at 213 Burlington Road
A Panera could be coming to the same property that houses the Melting Pot and Bamboo.
Panera Bread could fill a vacancy at 213 Burlington Road, a property managed by Kevin Curran of CMT Realty Partnerships, according to Pam Brown, of Brown and Brown PC.
Brown said the style of the Panera at 213 Burlington Road could represent a new restaurant model for the sandwich chain.
"Panera bread is introducing a new model focusing on take-out and delivery," Brown said. "While no seating is proposed within the Panera shop, the restaurant will have some seating within the interior common area of the building."

The Panera, which would be located in between the Melting Pot and Bamboo Restaurant, would offer patrons seating in the common area of the building, Brown said.
"Seating would be available to customers of Panera, although not excluding 'brown baggers' or those taking out from other restaurants," Brown said.

Bedford Town Manager Richard Reed could not confirm the addition of a Panera at 213 Burlington Road because representatives from the restaurant have yet to appear before the Bedford Planning Board or Selectmen to seek approval for the restaurant.
Brown said representatives from Panera Bread are expected to appear before the Planning Board in October to begin the process of receiving approval for moving a Panera into 213 Burlington Road.
