9/11 Anniversary: Belmont Victims Remembered

Patch remembers the more than 200 Massachusetts residents, including three from Belmont, who died in the terror attacks 16 years ago.

BELMONT, MA – It's been 16 years since the September 11th attacks, the deadliest terror attack on U.S. soil. More than 200 people from Massachusetts lost their lives, including three Belmont residents.

Paul Friedman, 45, was a management consultant for Emergence Consulting in Lincoln. He was described as a "shy, kind man with a surging mind," who was known as a problem-solver, collector and devoted husband and uncle. Friedman was on American Airlines Flight 11.

Edward (Ted) R. Hennessy Jr., 35, was a partner and principal for Emergence Consulting. An avid music fan who recorded his own songs, the father of two was on American Airlines Flight 11 to Los Angeles to consult for AOL Time Warner's Elektra records.

Carlos Alberto Montoya, 36, was onboard American Airlines Flight 11.
