Activity Assistant Job Opportunity

Adult Day Health program in Arlington seeks Activity Assistant to help facilitate stimulation, socialization, and reminisce in large and small group activities. Activity Assistants are responsible for
• Leading group activities (exercise groups, discussion groups, and special interest groups such as cooking, baking, arts/crafts, etc.)
• Assisting in implementing the breakfast and luncheon program
• Assisting clients with their mobility
• Assisting with the entering and exiting of clients at the beginning and end of each program day
• Planning and implementing therapeutic recreational activities appropriate for individuals with dementia

Strong interpersonal skills
Interest in working with the elderly
Comfortable working with individuals with communication deficits
Professional demeanor
Experience working with elders and dementia
