Ayla Brown Returns To Payson Park Festival

American Idol finalist performing Wednesday, June 22 at 6:45 p.m.

She was a hit the last time around and the Payson Park Music Festival sees the return of Ayla Brown, the multitalented American Idol finalists, television presenter and daughter of that US Senator from Massachusetts.

Brown will be performing Wednesday, June 23 at 6:45 p.m. at Payson Park Road, three blocks from Belmont Street and a block from the Payson Park Reservoir.

Desco Associates and Belmont Home Reality are sponsoring Brown's concert.

Brown is best known nationally for reaching the final 16 performers on the fifth season of American Idol. She has gone from there to release a series of albums and an EP earlier this year as well as singing live concerts throughout New England. She is known locally for being asked to sing the National Anthem at Boston Pops concerts and sporting events.

Many people may have forgotten that Brown is one of the most accomplished basketball players, both male and female, from the Bay State, finishing a four-year varsity career at Boston College this year.

Brown is also venturing into television. CBS's The Early Show aired her latest piece as special contributor to the network morning program, a father's day feature centering around her family's life since Scott Brown was elected to the U.S. Senate in January. You can view the clip at:

Celebrating its 21th season, The Payson Park Music Festival is an annual musical series that is intended for the enjoyment of the residents of Belmont and surrounding communities. The series has grown to fifteen concerts including four children's performances.

While the concerts are produced by the Payson Park Music Festival Committee, the series enjoys the cooperation and support of many members of town departments, including the Belmont Recreation Department, Belmont Municipal Light Department, Traffic Division of the Belmont Police Department, Belmont School Department, Belmont Highway Department and the Office of the Selectmen.
