Another Water Break In Cushing Square

Belmont Department of Public Work crews will be working well into the night to replace a broken water main on Common Street in Cushing Square.

Diners at Savinos Grill were enjoying their meals as a DPW employee was using a large backhoe to dig up the roadway adjacent to the eatery to begin repairs.

Traffic along a small portion of Common Street is reduced to a single lane.

Crews expect the work to be done by midnight.

This is the second substantial water break this month along Common Street. On Sept. 4, a large 12-inch pipe broke, buckling the pavement and sending water streaming down the roadway.
