Armed Forces and Overseas Citizens Voters Week
Town Clerk encourages all Belmont residents in foreign countries to visit government website.

The Federal Voting Assistance Program has designated July 1 to July 7 as Armed Forces and Overseas Citizens Voters Week.
Ellen O’Brien Cushman is encouraging all service members, their voting-age dependents, and overseas civilians to register to vote and request an absentee ballot for this year’s elections.
“If you have a family member who formerly resided in Belmont, who currently resides overseas, either serving in the military, working or studying, please encourage them to visit www.FVAP.gov now to qualify as a voter and request their absentee ballot, “ Cushman said.

“In addition, the family member still residing in Belmont can file an application with the Town Clerk to request an absentee ballot for the overseas voter,” she said.
At locations throughout the world, FVAP activities include voting programs explaining the process required to qualify to vote and how to obtain an absentee ballot from local election officials, registration drives on installations and embassies, and local media engagement.
