Belmont Board of Selectmen Seeking Committee Members

Throw your hat in the ring for one of the openings on several town committees.

Belmont, MA – The Belmont Board of Selectmen is beginning its annual committee appointment process to fill positions expiring in 2016 and vacancies left by resignations.

Though the positions are unpaid, they play a pivotal role in shaping Belmont's future. The Board is seeking Belmont residents who are willing to volunteer for these vital roles.

• Cultural Council

• Disability Access Commission

• Economic Development Advisory Committee

• Education Scholarship Committee

• Energy Committee

• Historic District Commission

• Housing Trust

• Human Rights Commission

• Information Technology Advisory Committee

• Media Center Board of Directors

• Municipal Light Advisory Board

• Permanent Audit Committee

• Planning Board

• Recreation Commission

• Registrars Of Voters

• Shade Tree Committee

• Traffic Advisory Committee

• Vision 21 Implementation Committee

• Water Advisory Board

• Zoning Board of Appeals

The time commitment of members varies with each committee. To be considered for any of these roles, residents are asked to submit a resume and completed Community Volunteer Interest Form to the Office of the Board of Selectmen.

Interest forms can be picked up at the Selectmen's Office or downloaded here.

Completed applications can be submitted by mail to 455 Concord Avenue, Belmont, Ma 02478, faxed to

(617) 993-2611, or e-mailed to selectmen@belmont-ma.gov. All applications must be received prior to

July 8, 2016 in order to be considered during this summer’s appointment cycle.

Appointment to these committees is not guaranteed. The Board will make all appointments during public meetings this summer.
