Belmont Fire Extinguishes Blaze at Store
Three-alarm fire reported at Jimmy's Food Mart.

Belmont Fire and Rescue teams were called Jimmy’s Food Mart on Belmont Street earlier tonight for a three-alarm blaze, according to a number of posts on Twitter including video posted by the town’s Director of Emergency Management, Leo Saidnawey.
The store, which has been open about a year and a half in the former location of Shore Drug, caught on fire around 7:30 p.m., according to emergency alerts.
The building appears to be a total loss.

A number of residents reported losing power in the area while firefighters were putting down the blaze. According to posts online, it appeared to be put under control around 8:30 p.m.
At 9 p.m., the MBTA was still re-routing the Route 73 bus while firefighters are at the scene.
