Belmont Man Pleads Guilty To 2016 Sexual Assault: DA

A 35-year-old Belmont man pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman in his home while she was unconscious.

BELMONT, MA – A Belmont man pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges Tuesday in connection with a 2016 rape, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's office. Zachary St. Paul, 35, pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault and battery of a person over the age of 14, one count of photographing an unsuspecting nude person and willful dissemination of a photograph of a nude person.

On June 12, 2016, the woman told police she had been sexually assaulted the night before in St. Paul's Belmont home. She said she had been out with him the night before and woke up the following morning with no memory of coming home with him. He told her they had sex, which she also did not remember, according to authorities.

The woman borrowed St. Paul's phone and found pictures of herself in a state of undress as well as videos of him assaulting her while she was unconscious, the DA's office said. Investigators found that St. Paul had shared one of the photographs with another person.
