BELMONT, MA — A Belmont Center restaurant is celebrating the final stretch of summer with a month of seasonal food specials, limited-time promotions and live entertainment throughout August.

The Wellington will mark National Sandwich Month, National Oyster Day, and the height of New England's summer with new menu offerings and special events. The lineup includes lunch promotions, an expanded oyster special, seasonal dishes and weekend entertainment.

The first promotion runs throughout August in honor of National Sandwich Month. The Wellington opened in Belmont Center in 2018 as a neighborhood tavern from brothers Dante, Damian and Filippo deMagistris, who also own il Casale in Belmont and Lexington. The restaurant takes its name from the historic Wellington railroad station and tavern that once stood in Belmont Center and serves a menu centered on elevated American comfort food, New England seafood, craft cocktails and local beer.

Weekend live entertainment will continue throughout August with Malin & Friends performing Fridays from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Morningside Music Studio performing Saturdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and the restaurant's Sunday Live Jazz Brunch running from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with rotating performers.

"August is one of the best times of year to enjoy everything New England has to offer, from fresh seafood and local produce to relaxing afternoons and evenings spent outdoors," General Manager Joe Arkinstall said. "We wanted to create a month filled with reasons for both our regular guests and first-time visitors to stop by, whether it's for lunch, happy hour, or dinner."
