Belmont Seeks Local Purple Heart Recipients for August Ceremony
The town, which was recognized as a "Purple Heart Community" in December, will hold its inaugural reception honoring recipients Aug. 7.
Belmont, MA – Belmont Veteran's Services are calling all locals who have either been awarded the Purple Heart Medal or have a relative who received it posthumously to join them for a ceremony in August.
Belmont was officially recognized as a "Purple Heart Community" in December following a Board of Selectman proclamation.
To honor the new distinction, the town is looking to identify local Purple Heart recipients and honor them Aug. 7.

The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. at the Belmont Memorial Library, 336 Concord Ave.
