"Belmont Seen" - Belmont Art Association Members Exhibit Continues at Belmont Gallery of ArtThrough March 21
Belmont Gallery of Art presents Belmont Seen- work by members of Belmont Art Association Continues Through Mar. 21Belmont Seen, the inaugural exhibition of the Belmont Art Association (BAA), introduces the Association to the community and offers visitors to the Belmont Gallery of Art an opportunity to meet many of the artists--both amateur and professional--who live and work in the town. Showcasing work by 27 BAA members, the eclectic exhibit includes work in a variety of media from painting, drawing, printmaking and collage, to sculpture, ceramics, textiles, jewelry design, and photography.
Founded a year ago by artist Christine Chang, the Belmont Art Association's mission is to "create a community of and for Belmont-based visual artists by sharing information and resources and creating opportunities to display their work." Participating artists in “Belmont Seen” include: Christine Arthur, Kimberley Becker, Nicole Bernstein, Christine Chang, Warren Croce, Arlette Doherty, Norma Dumont, Naomi Ellenberg-Dukas, Irene Fairley, Patrick Ford, Svetlana Grinshpan, Erika Hartwieg, Richard Hill, Kay Hudgins, Susan Johnson, Susan Jones, Anne Katzeff, Susan Kottler, Arch MacInnes, Helen Morse, Karla O'Brien, Dari Paquette, Rebecca Richards, Linda-Ruth Satler, Ian Todreas, Jane Wentzell and Alan Witschonke.
Additional programming during Belmont Seen includes two Sunday Artist Salons to be held on March 2 and March 9 at 2:00 p.m. Sure to be of interest to art appreciators, collectors and other artists as well, the artists in each session will discuss a range of topics such as inspiration, motivation, thought processes, and art-making materials and techniques. Events are free and open to the public.
The "Belmont Seen" exhibit takes place Feb. 7-March 21, 2014. The Belmont Gallery of Art is located on the 3rd fl. of the Homer Bldg., 19 Moore St., Belmont Center.
