Whether you are planning a trip or fantasizing about exotic locations, take a look at the new Eyewitness Travel guides we have just added to our collection.

Whether you are planning a trip or fantasizing about exotic locations, take a look at the new Eyewitness Travel guides we have just added to the collection. Published by Dorling Kindersley (DK) in London, these guides are known for their beautiful maps and photographs.

Flipping through these guides is a bit like reading National Geographic, with photos on every single page. And the illustrations are useful as well as gorgeous. In  "Eyewitness St. Petersburg",for example, a map of "Celebrated St. Peterburgers" shows where you can find the homes or workplaces of Gogol, Tchaikovsky, Dostoevsky, Pavlova, and others. A map of The Hermitage pins photographs of the most famous masterpieces to the rooms where they are located, so you can plan your best route through the six buildings. Three guided walks help you explore the city on your own. And if you must dream rather than visit, there are stunning photographs of cathedrals and palaces to make you feel like you’re there.

Our latest Eyewitness Travel guides include Hawaii, Sweden, Cambodia and Laos, Florence and Tuscany, Japan, Tokyo, Kenya, and Brazil, with a few more on order.

Tip: If the guidebook you want is checked out and you want to be sure to request the most recent year, you can do that – but it is the very last step when you place your request. After you enter your library card number, PIN, and pick-up location, you finally will be able to select a specific book.
